DG Mel Greene and
wife Laura Lowry-Greene

Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Received his BA from The
University of Tulsa in 1958.
In business
Mel worked for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 41
years serving as District Manager in Oklahoma City,
Chicago, and Milwaukee, Region Dealer Development
Manager and Real Estate Manager for 5 years in
Cleveland, Ohio and Original Equipment Account Executive
in Kansas City. Mel was awarded the Goodyear Spirit
Award for The
Replacement
Sales Division in 1984 while he was District Manager in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1987 Mel Married Laura and they
moved to Cleveland, Ohio. In 1991 Mel and Laura moved to
Shawnee, Kansas.
Mel retired
from Goodyear in 1999. Mel and Laura moved to Columbus,
Kansas in 2006 where he and his wife Lion Laura
Lowry-Greene own Maple UnCommon Hotel & Art Gallery.
Mel has two
sons, Charles lives in San Antonio, Texas, where he is a
teacher. His other son Wayne lives in Tulsa and works
for the Tulsa World news paper. Mel has three
grandchildren; Caleb, Monica and Nathan who live in San
Antonio.
Mel is a member of the Columbus
Lions Club where he served as Club 2nd Vice
president, 1st Vice President, President and
Board of Directors for 3 years. I attended the Great
Plains Leadership Institution in 2009. In Multiple
District 17-S he served as Convention Chairman, Zone
Chairman, 2nd vice District Governor, 1st
Vice District Governor, and is now The District Governor
Elect for the year 2011-2012. |
